WELCOME TO BII
BII GmbH is a young, dynamic and innovative start-up from Würzburg, Germany. The company was founded in 2018 through a collaboration between Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg and Biberach University of Applied Sciences. We still recruit many of our excellent talents directly from these universities. Since the start of the development with only two students, we have grown to over 20 employees today. During this time, we were able to build a network with various industry-leading partners, with whom we share a common goal. Together we are pushing the vision of dProB, an innovative software for simulating construction processes. We aim to release the first version of dProB in 2022 and will continuously extend its features in the following years.
The winning formula for our attractive, user-centered software products combines the goals and modelling standards of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the attractive and performant solutions of Games Engineering.
As a lean start-up, we enter strong relationships with our partners and benefit from their expertise. It allows us to deliver premium software products that are conceived, developed and released to make a difference.
Thanks to a large talent pool and strong ties with state-of-the-art research facilities in the relevant fields of construction, design and computer science, we have grown to implement fast, user-centered development cycles and to craft cutting-edge technology.
Most of our employees started as interns or student trainees during their Bachelor’s and Master’s studies – and, so far, most of them hired with us full-time after graduation. We highly value the relaxed family atmosphere in our team and are actively taking measures to maintain this important asset.

The success of the dProB software system is based on close collaboration with our partners and great efforts in tailoring towards their different construction domains. Modelling and simulating by means of our software brings clarity about the feasibility of difficult construction processes.
Detailing the concrete logistics and construction processes, workers and machines involved and interactively changing these details yields clarity about the required resources and the best possible plan – also in terms of safety.
As a side effect, planning in 3D yields visuals that help coordinate all the construction workers involved, as well as to acquire customer, public and managerial support.
